DBO

DBO

DBO was born a child of the M3, the road being the theme of his childhood and forming the border between his rural and urban upbringing. This idea is still evident in his work today. The heavy ink fetish that defines DBO's art was until recently a necessary cure for bouts of unemployment, depression and torment. Salvation was to be found in the inky flowing lines that characterise his work. For DBO art is about the journey, the adventure and the freedom, its not always well considered, or on the mark. It's escapism in its least detrimental form, and we all have things we would rather run away from...Increased commitment to the cause during 2008 has seen DBO take his work to another level. While juggling his day job as a multi discipline designer he has also been responsible for organising the 2008 'Creativity Killed the Cat' exhibition at the up and coming New cross gallery London as well as seeing his work exhibited in Selfridges as part of the DrewattsUrban Art Exhibition.Other notable achievements include being short-listed for the OakleyDesign Brief and securing various commissions, including the design of acollection of boards for www.spindeck.com
