Upfest is a as a multi-venue urban festival with the 1.3km stretch of North Street in Bedminster at it's centre, connecting venues and painting locations. The multi-venue urban setting has given the festival it's transient feel, with visitors encouraged to explore and find whats around the next corner.

Upfest 2016 Artists

Artist registration opens on the 29th of February and closes on the 27th March 2016. International artists will be informed if they have been successful by the 1st April and UK artists by the 15th April.

Upfest has always been serenaded by the sound of sweet music and this year will be no exception. We've roped in the expertise of some of Bristol's finest to deliver the rhythms that will get those feet moving and resonate those skillful hands of our painting artists, let the good vibes begin.

Since the festival's inception in 2008, it has been utilised as a platform by our nominated charity, NACOA - National Association for Children of Alcoholics to raise over £25,000 and more importantly gain awareness of the work they do to address the problems children have growing up in families where one or both parents suffer from alcoholism.

By offering your support as a volunteer you have the chance to be part of the Upfest crew that make the festival happen. We have plenty of different roles available, whatever your skills and abilities may be, and whether you're available before, during or after the festival - or all of the above!

Festival Information and FAQs

The festival is FREE to attend, we kindly ask that you buy a brochure to support the festival and our nominated charity. Live painting takes place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of July. Monday the 25th has been designated as a viewing day and special family day with extra workshops for the kids.

Inspired by what you see? Be sure to check out the affordable art sale areas at the festival. Most attending artists will have left art for our crew to sell. Buying art at the festival means you are supporting both the artist who've travelled from across the globe and also securing the future of this Free festival for all.

Upfest is for everyone with hundreds of families attending each year. Most artists will be happy to show you what they are creating and many bring their own children to the festival. Workshops and places to make mess will be in abundance so lets get creative!
