Adam Mclevey - Bristol Series
University of Bristol
Adam Mclevey (British, b. 1976) has painted three large-scale pieces depicting some of Bristol's key landmarks. The paintings, each measuring 6 feet by 4 feet, have been leased through local arts company ‘Upfest’ to the University of Bristol, who will house the art in their Hiatt Baker student halls of residence.
The pieces reflect Mclevey's stylistic combination of fine art detailing and bold graffiti-influcenced structure. Mclevey was born in the South West, but spent time in Germany, Scotland, and London before returning to the Bristol area in 2006. He has exhibited his work in solo and group shows in the US and UK where he also painted ‘live’ at the Urban Paint Festival. He works from his home studio and, weather permitting, on the streets. He received press attention last year after his canvas, 'Typo', was snuck into the Banksy v. Bristol Museum exhibit.
