Angela Cogo

Angela is a Bristol based children’s book illustrator working mainly with traditional media, including watercolours, pencils, and soft pastels. Her work draws on both observation and imagination, and often features playful characters and details from the natural world.
Drawing on childhood memories, her illustrations aim to capture the feeling that the most ordinary situations can turn into unexpected and extraordinary adventures.
Atmosphere plays an important role in her work. Light and shadow, along with colour and composition, are used to shape scenes that feel inviting and gently nostalgic.
Angela grew up reading old tales, folklore, and myths, which are a constant source of inspiration, alongside Japanese animation and European graphic novels, influencing both the storytelling and visual style.
