Becky McG

Becky (becky.mcgillivray) is a Stopfordian Visual Artist painting large-scale vibrant, typographic murals full of energy and texture. Her designs take reference from everyday textures like ripped billboards, road signs and gravestones. She loves experimenting with letterforms and clashing colour schemes, drawing inspiration from the smallest insignificant things and repurposing them. She sees her murals as typographic collages scaled up.

Becky has been painting murals for six years now for community groups, independent brands, universities, and clients big and small. Her latest painting exploits were painting the side of a Double Decker bus and the rooftop wall of a gallery.

Becky is really passionate about skill sharing with other women and people in marginalized groups who want to get into street art. She wants to make it safer and more accessible. She founded Overspray Collective to put that mission into action in Manchester.

She’s a proud member of The Matchbox Collective and has a studio at GRIT studios in Manchester.
