We’re looking for an aspiring gallery manager to join the Upfest team, working in our flagship Bedminster gallery.
The Upfest team run Europe’s Largest Street Art Festival, create art interventions and public projects and operate a gallery on North Street in Bedminster. The gallery hosts around 5 exhibitions each year, accompanied by an ever evolving selection of artworks from our festival artists, alongside books, merch and clothing.
We are looking for a gallery supervisor, responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Upfest gallery, including managing exhibitions and events, leading on merchandising and liaising with our marketing team to promote all aspects of the gallery. We would like this supervisor position to evolve over time to a wider gallery management role.
Working with our Artist Liaison lead and Directors, you will be part of a small team, in the constantly changing and exciting world of street art.
Working hours are 9.30am- 5.30pm, Tuesday to Friday and working on one weekend day, alternating Saturday and Sundays. With the addition of overseeing exhibition openings, in the evenings or occasionally at the weekends, as part of a small team, there is a need for some flexibility and adaptability regarding responsibilities and working hours.
We are looking for a person who is passionate about art, with a natural love for interacting with the public and a drive for excellence in running this vital part of our business.
Starting salary: £20,000 with an initial six months review.
