Upfest is for everyone with hundreds of families attending each year. Most artists will be happy to show you what they are creating and many bring their own children to the festival. Head to South Street Park for Graffiti workshops and our dedicated children’s area.

This year the Nacoa kid’s area is bigger and better than ever. Nacoa volunteers will take over an area of

South Street Park for the whole three days, partaking in everything sticky and colourful from badge

making and biscuit decorating to making giant paintings. Parents must accompany their children at all

Miss C’s Graffiti Academy- South Street Park

Miss C is an urban community artist that divides her time between creating her own work and teaching others. Join her at South Street Park  for  workshops for budding artists to learn spray skills.

1hr workshops will be running:

Saturday 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, Sunday 12pm, 2pm, 4pm

Monday 11am, 1pm 3pm (at tobacco factory)

Suitable for ages 10 and above, £10 per person

Rainbow Gecko (Sunday and Monday)

ArtRainbow Gecko, the South West’s most colourful Bubbleologists  are performing to delight and entertain you at this year’s Upfest. The BubbleMan and Bubble Faerie will astound you with their rainbow coloured bubbles the size of cars, bubble trickery to amaze and even invite you to try some slippery trickery or even make some giant bubbles.

Their show consists of unbelievabubble magic with their simple home made soapy solution with a hint of a little secret magic ingredient.

Pottery on Wheels

Will be offering Ceramic Stickers workshops and Pottery Wheel Master-Classes.

In the 20 minute Pottery Wheel master-class you will experience throwing an earthenware pot on an electric pottery wheel with step by step guidance. Once your pot is made you can take a photo and the clay will be recycled or you can choose to have it fired and glazed, a permanent keepsake of your experience or great gift! Your pot will be ready for collection in Bristol 2-4 weeks later.

If you like what you make and want it fired & glazed there is an additional £14 charge
If you would like it carefully packaged and posted there is an additional £5 charge

In this 50 minute Ceramic Sticker workshop you will make a clay tile that will be decorated with slips using techniques such as stencilling, spraying, dribbling & sagraffito. There will also be a range of texture tool and lettersets to customise your tile further. It will then be taken away fired and glazed ready for collection 2-4 weeks later.
£12 per child/£15 per adult (for tuition, firing and glazing for one tile)
£5 per additional tile or ceramic creation
If you would like it carefully packaged and posted there is an additional £5 charge
On the Saturday & Sunday the pottery van will be on Greville Road (between Zazus and the Hen and Chicken)
On the Monday the pottery van will be at the Tobacco Factory

The Creation Station inspiring children, let them have fun with different materials - paint, glue and, of course, a bit of glitter – but we also believe that being creative is about experimenting, playing and just seeing what happens.  are We will have a blank Canvas Panel for the children to paint, decorate…in fact do whatever their imagination take them.  Making their own personal masterpiece.


No need to book just drop in and have a go £2.50 a canvas. Suitable for all ages.
