Amy McHugh
Amy McHugh is a Bristol-based multi-disciplinary artist, illustrator and designer whose work explores mental health, community and identity. Working across books, murals and whatever they can get their hands on, their practice is rooted in exploring feelings and emotions through writing, drawing, painting and mixed media.
Alongside their personal work, Amy collaborates with communities through arts and crafts projects that build confidence and create space to share experiences and stories. They believe art can be a powerful tool for combating isolation and finding companionship in the chaos, helping people express themselves and see their stories reflected in the world around them.
Amy is part of the Bristol Mural Collective, a women and non-binary led group championing inclusive, community-driven street art through workshops, paint jams and shared authorship.
Their work is characterised by bold colour, emotional honesty, and making existential crisis cute.
