GRAFFMATT

GRAFFMATT

Graffmatt is a French artist whose work explores the interaction between the
individual and the urban environment. Emerging from graffiti and trained in graphic
design, he develops a practice at the intersection of realism and visual
deconstruction.
Through fragmented human figures, often merged with architectural elements, he
stages identities in flux, shaped and sometimes absorbed by the contemporary city.
His compositions juxtapose the precision of portraiture with raw, unstable, almost
invasive urban structures.
This reflection takes form in images with a strong cinematic quality, charged with
emotional intensity. Working with acrylic and spray paint, he creates expressive
textures where deep, dark backgrounds collide with bursts of vivid, sometimes
fluorescent color. These luminous accents, like tensions within the image, convey a
constant oscillation between chaos and hope.
Drawing, central to his practice, acts as a meeting point between human forms and
urban constructions, blending precision with fragmentation. From this hybridization
emerges a visual language where strength and vulnerability coexist.
Balancing technical mastery with artistic exploration, Graffmatt offers a sensitive and
critical perspective on the place of the individual in a world in constant
transformation.
