Swapping her needle drafted etching plates for a big brush on the wall, the Bristol and Hay-on-Wye based artist is painting for Upfest. Her work explores what it means to be a living thing; capturing the wonders of the natural world and human body predominantly through unfathomably intricate mark making. Her signature hatched style gives a voice of the past which is suggestive of the artists choice of fragile subject matter; death. birth, growth and magic.
Rosie works mainly from her studio nearby to the Upfest Gallery at Estate of the Arts, (South Liberty Lane, Bristol, BS3 2SG) but has also just opened her own gallery at Hay Castle, (Hay-on-Wye, Oxford Road, HR3 5DG). Both spaces you can book to view her full collection of original etchings, while Upfest have her popular and growing collection of hand-gilded giclee's prints and cards.
