Mataone

MATAONE started painting in 1996 after seeing the hip hop documentary Style Wars. Born and living in Renaix, a small city in Belgium near the French border he represents C3P Crew from Paris, Dirty Crew from Brussels, 13 Crowns from Pattaya.

His style of graffiti letters is layered 3D combined with photorealistic images. Working with a dark undertone and a sense of irony gives his work the possibility of interpretation. In both characters and letter style he puts a lot of time and work to make them technically outstanding, which he believe makes it hard to copy. If a painting tells a thousand words and words are the most powerful weapon, that’s why MATA paints words.
