Upfest 2017 Venues

Upfest is a as a multi-venue urban festival with the 1.3km stretch of North Street in Bedminster at it's centre, connecting venues and painting locations. The multi-venue urban setting has given the festival it's transient feel, with visitors encouraged to explore and find whats around the next corner.

Ashton Gate Stadium

This year, Upfest is teaming up with Ashton Gate to bring more than 100 artists to the stadium, creating a brand new area for the festival and the largest collection of live painting at the event. It will host the longest painting surface for the festival to date with 50 artists painting on a 200m stretch, alongside our New York Style Subway Train, live entertainment, a plethora of children’s workshops and an art fair area featuring hundreds of pieces of affordable art and exclusive prints from a selection of festival artists.

The original and largest Upfest venue, featuring multiple music and painting areas plus art sales, urban clothing & food market. The multi use building houses the Cafe Bar, Thali Cafe, creative industry work space, live/work loft apartments, animation and performing arts schools and one of the most exciting theatre venues in the country.

The Malago

The Malago is the newest independent restaurant on North Street, with a glorious sunny terrace, which is a great place to chill out and watch the artists work. The Malago is open from 9am to 11pm, serving brunch from 9-3 and dinner from 5.30pm. In honour of Upfest there will be a barbecue outside all day, along with an extra bar outside to keep everyone's thirst at bay! We're really excited for our first Upfest and look forward to celebrating this amazing festival with you all.

Spotted Cow

The Spotted Cow is situated on North Street in the heart of Southville and Bedminster. The pub has a rich heritage dating back to Bedminster’s agricultural past and has stood for over 200 years. The walled garden hosts around 20 artist and is always a great stop off for a cheeky cider.

The Old Book Shop

The Steam Crane

The Steam Crane Ale House & Kitchen has been an upfest venue since 2015. They have a great selection of Local ales, ciders, spirits and wines. Pop along and check out the outside Bombay bar and BBQ and live music.

The Hare

The Rising Sun

Situated opposite the gorgeous Greville Smyth park. The Rising Sun is a hidden gem that hides in plain sight. With great cask ales, beers and ciders. The Rising Sun is a traditional pub that has a large rear garden which hosts Upfest art, artists, DJ's, live music and a BBQ to boot.
