Nina Raines
Nina is a Bristol based artist who has been working as a scenic painter for over ten years, creating scenery for TV and theatre. She’s often found transforming sets with various paint effects, be it faux woodgrain, marble, or rusty metal, she can take a bare piece of wood and make it something else entirely. Her scenic work lends to a varied and adaptable mural style where she’s able to apply different techniques to all sorts of surfaces.
She always likes to use bold colour and a playfulness in her murals, and is interested in the power of art to change lives and strengthen communities. She is a believer in the transformative nature of public art to positively impact people and bring joy.
She has been a member of Bristol Mural Collective for five years. Through the Collective in 2025 she was lead organiser for the inaugural Lucky Lane paint festival, transforming a drab alleyway in Bedminster: “Great vibe, really supportive and non judgemental, a positive impact on the area” (Artist feedback) She is also the new organiser of Window Wanderland in BS3.
She has painted across Bristol: sets, shutters, walls, interiors and is ready for more!
