Sara Mai

Sara Mai is an artist and environmental activist based on the banks of the River Severn at Shrewsbury, her muse is water .Over ten years ago Sara started rescuing waste colour in the form of plastic bottle tops, to create ‘plastic pixel art’, her art addresses issues around water,  plastics and refined crude oil.Sara’s artwork is made of pierced bottle tops woven together with monofilament. Her art and design is displayed at festivals and events around the country.Artwork like  ‘I Am No Sewer’, which was made for the River Severn, may be floated on the river, or town floodwaters.
