Stacey Hames

Stacey is a brush-led artist working across a range of styles and subjects. Drawn to murals for their scale, immediacy and accessibility, she collaborates with clients and communities to translate ideas into bold, engaging public works. Her practice is eclectic and adaptable, yet consistently defined by confident, clean lines and a vibrant, high-impact colour palette.

At the core of her self led work is an ongoing exploration of how perception shapes reality. This enquiry is closely tied to ideas of self-authority and the ability to define one’s own experience. A persistent drive for autonomy runs throughout her practice, reflecting anarchic principles and a strong ‘do-it-yourself’ ethos.

Influenced by a lifelong fascination with comics and a particular affinity for Batman and the Joker, Stacey’s work often carries a graphic sensibility, blending character, narrative and visual clarity. Figures and faces play a central role, ranging from detailed oil portraits to more symbolic characterisations.

Whether working on walls or canvas, Stacey creates work that is both immediate and immersive—inviting connection at a glance, while rewarding those who choose to look more closely.
