Weston Wallz returns for 5th year

Now in its fifth year, Weston Wallz returns to Weston-super-Mare with a week-long programme of street art and creative workshops. What began as a modest mural trail has grown into a staple of the town’s cultural calendar - bringing international artists, bold visual storytelling and a splash of colour to the summer holidays.

Since its launch, Weston Wallz has delivered 58 permanent murals to the town - revitalising public spaces, engaging the local community and inviting visitors to explore Weston through a new lens. With backing from Weston Town Council and Arts Council England, this year will see the number grow to over 75 murals, bringing colour to even more buildings throughout
the town centre.

The 2025 edition will see murals painted live by internationally respected artists including Dale Grimshaw, Sophi Odling, Shauna, and HazardOne, with additional names to be announced in the coming weeks. The artworks will be created across Weston town centre, continuing the transformation of everyday walls into striking, thought-provoking installations.

At the Italian Gardens, the ever-popular S.M.Art Sprayjam & Workshops will return, offering young people and families the chance to take part in hands-on creative sessions and getting the opportunity to try out Posca Paint-pens and MTN Spray-paint. These workshops are designed to be accessible, informal, and welcoming to all - reflecting Upfest’s wider ethos of inclusion and community focus.

With Upfest Bristol taking its scheduled fallow year, Weston Wallz stands as Upfest’s headline programme for 2025. The project is supported by Weston Town Council, Arts Council England, Super Culture, Posca Paint-pens and MTN Spray-paint.

Any local businesses keen to support the project, or building owners interested in offering their walls for consideration, are encouraged to contact stephen@upfest.co.uk.

The programme continues to highlight how creativity can help reshape places - not through grand gestures, but through steady, visible acts of care, collaboration and colour.
