Nacoa

Nacoa is a UK charity (based in Bristol) that provides information, advice, and support for everyone affected by a parent’s drinking. We believe children of alcohol-dependent parents have the right to be heard and supported, and we exist to give them a voice and help break the cycle of addiction.

We support children, young people and adults through our free, confidential helpline and online services, and we also provide resources and training for professionals working with families.

Nacoa is so proud to have been partnered with Upfest since its inception. Our friendly volunteers used to marshal the festival and raise funds through programme sales. These days, we’ll be found in the kids’ areas putting on arty activities and face painting. (And selling incredible homemade cakes.)

Together, we’ve raised countless awareness that children and families affected by alcoholism are not alone — and that help and support is available.
